Over 40 years ago, I was enrolled in a program that helped struggling kids. My Mom was recently divorced and I was a real handful.  I needed a mentor, and the fledgling Big Brothers Big Sisters program gave me that. My "Big Brother", Al, took me out on bicycle rides and helped get me interested in computing. 

All these years later, I'm still interested in all those things, and especially with my yearly work helping raise money for this fantastic program. 

Of Central Texas children enrolled in our programs, 

- 98% maintain or improve their grades
- 94% intend to finish high school
- 75% maintain or improve their relationships with their parents
- 97% say their relationship with their Big is very important to them

Although the agency serves approximately 1,000 children each year, hundreds of boys and girls in Central Texas are still waiting to be matched with a caring mentor of their own.
